Wilfred Sayer was born in England and most likely came to Canada as a young man with his parents. He worked as a sailor and we believe he met Florence in her hometown of Macduff, Scotland, while working. He convinced her to come to Canada and she arrived shortly before the outbreak of World War One. They married and had two daughters: Dorothy Amelia Sayer and Pat Sayer. Seven years after Dorothys birth, Florence walked to the bus stop and never came home. She had decided to start a new life for herself, and eventually re-married to a gentleman named Chapman. Her youngest daughter, Pat was sent to live with an aunt but Dorothy remained at home with her father. When his children had grown up, Curly was also re-married, sometime in the 1940s.
